Códigos 1D, também conhecidos como lineares ou de uma dimensão são apresentados através de barras (MODELO ABAIXO)

EAN13, CODE 128, Intercalado 2 de 5, 3 de 9, são exemplos de códigos 1D.

Códigos Bidimensionais

Códigos 2D, são códigos bidimensionais, os quais surgiram como uma alternativa para tornar possível a inserção de uma maior quantidade de informação dentro do código de barras

Datamatrix, PDF417 e QR Code são exemplos de códigos 2D.

Quais as diferenças entre eles?

CÓDIGO 128

– Aceitam poucas informações, geralmente alguns números ou letras.

– O código de barras tradicional pode ter no máximo 20 dígitos Ex: Metalacre LM38 contém 12 dígitos

Data Matrix

– Permite armazenar diferentes tipos de dados, incluindo caracteres alfabéticos, numéricos, símbolos, binários, kanji e kana (alfabeto japonês)

– Um QR code pode armazenar uma grande quantidade de informações em um micro espaço, suporta informações bem mais complexas do que o código de barras

Vantagens do Código 2D para o Código Linear 1D

– Dependendo da informação que se deseja colocar ficaria inviável a utilização de um código 1D tanto em função de tamanho, assim como de apresentação

– Códigos 2D são códigos bidimensionais, que permitem a inserção de uma maior quantidade de informação dentro do código de barras com mais especificações e detalhes

– Códigos 2D são capazes de armazenar mais tipos de caracteres e podem ser impressos ou gravados num menor espaço, por exemplo em um lacre

– Outra grande vantagem dos QR Codes ou Códigos 2D é poderem ser digitalizados a partir de diferentes ângulos de 360 graus
